White
100% Chardonnay

Situated in the south of the Côte de Beaune, Chassagne Montrachet is one of the 5 villages of the prestigious «Côte de Blancs». Facing east and south-east, white Premier Cru soils are mainly made of brown clay and limestone. Chassagne Montrachet produces 70 hectares of premiers crus.

At an altitude varying from 250 to 350 m, it benefits from exposures ranging from East to South and Southwest. The «Champs Gains» vineyards lies at the northern end of the commune, bordering "Les Caillerets".

The fermentation takes place during about three weeks, after which the wines are aged in oak barrels for about 12-15 months before being bottled.

Louis Jadot Chassagne Montrachet 1er cru "Champs Gains" is a full bodied and interesting wine. It is very delicate with almond, apple, peach, spices or even truffle aromas, with a very long finish. It is a nice companion to special meals including foie gras or noble fish.

This premier cru can easily be kept more than 10 years if its conditions for temperature and humidity are repected.
