Côte de Beaune
Premier Cru
100% Pinot Noir

Beaune vineyards are the most extensive of the Côte de Beaune, between Savigny to the North, and Pommard to the South. There are no Grand Cru vineyards in this commune, but 36 Premiers Crus.

Beaune vineyard is almost totally situated on a slope, so a great part of its climat is « Premier Cru » (for example: Les Avaux). This red Premier Cru is located in the area of the dale of Bouze. The soil is made of clay and chalk with alluvium on surface. It is deep, with a lot of water but well drained, it is easy to heat.

Fermentation is made in open tanks (without stems) during 3-4 weeks, in order to obtain a optimal expression of the soil. Then it is keep in oak barrels during 18 months.

This Premier Cru is an elegant wine, quite full in body with red fruit aromas, spices and vanilla notes. It will perfectly accompany delicate and light meat dishes and strong and pickled dishes as well as most cheeses.

This wine can be drunk after five years and will easily age 12-15 years in good cellaring conditions and following the vintage.
