Maison Louis Jadot

Beaujolais-Villages Primeur

Beaujolais-Villages Primeur
Appellation Régionale
100% Gamay grape

The Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages Primeur comes mainly from the Rhône and Saône et Loire region (Le bois d'Oingt, Lancié etc...) within the Beaujolais Villages area. Maison Louis Jadot intends to have long partnerships with local growers producing traditional Beaujolais Villages.

Among the 55.000 acres (22.000 hectares) of vineyards planted in the Beaujolais region, about 15.000 acres (6.000 hectares) are under the name of Beaujolais Villages « Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée » which is the intermediary appellation between the Beaujolais and the 10 Crus.

Our Beaujolais Villages Primeur is vinified according to the tradition : semi-carbonic maceration, making sure not to express too overwhelming or extravagant aromas (such as the "famous" banana smell). It is important to respect the authentic gamay mentality.

The 2006 vintage, with a regular yield, presents a rather supple structure allowing us to predict a very nice Beaujolais Villages as well, being released in January 2007. Maison Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages Primeur works harmoniously with charcuteries, pasta, sausages, simple cuisine in general.

The Beaujolais Villages Primeur should be drunk young but can easily be kept 2 or 3 years.
